| |
A. | For out-of-state students that don't meet the published standards, an admissions committee determines if the student has special circumstances that would allow KU to extend an admissions offer. Sometimes the committee will extend a conditional admit offer where a student has to be enrolled in 24 credit hours and earn a 2.0 GPA their first year. |

A. | Students can transfer any amount of credit hours from a four year institution, however the student needs to speak with their department at KU to see how those classes will fulfill their degree requirements. There is not a guarantee that those transferred courses will fulfill KU requirements. Students transferring credits from a community college or other two year institution can transfer up to 64 credit hours. Again, each student should speak with an advisor in their department to see which courses will fulfill degree requirements. Every student must take a minimum of 30 credit hours on the KU campus to receive a degree from KU. |
| |
A. | A student can fulfill the computer technology requirement a variety of ways.
-Take a computer class through your high school (basic computer/software skills)
-Take a computer class through a local community college or university (Try to do this dual enrollment if possible, this way the course shows up on the student's high school transcript.)
-Take the computer proficiency exam on KU's website (The cost is $35. Go to www.kuce.org for instructions and registration.) |

A. | Students transferring from a Kansas college or university: Have at least 24 credit hours with a 2.0 or higher GPA. Students with fewer than 24 hours must meet different requirements.
Students transferring from an out-of-state college or university: Have at least 24 credit hours with a 2.5 or higher GPA. Students with fewer than 24 hours must meet different requirements.

The Office of Admissions and Scholarships will recalculate your GPA for admission purposes by averaging ALL courses taken, including repeats.

A. | Unfortunately, once you have college credit you can not become a freshman again. You would have to fill out our transfer application for admissions but if you have fewer than 24 credit hours we would evaluate you on both your collegiate GPA and high school work.
